The recent past: venir de + infinitive verb

We use the present tense of venir venir, présent (to come) + de + infinitive verb, e.g. arriver (to arrive), manger (to eat), partir (to leave), etc., to talk about an event that took place a very short time ago. It is the equivalent of “has just, have just” in English.

The train has just departed.

We have just left the cinema.

Théo and Anna have just arrived in Paris.
